Children’s shoe recalls

Children’s shoes make up 60 of the recalls in our archive, and 42 of those are choking hazards: a flower, bead, pom-pom or snap that can come off in a small child’s mouth.

14 recalls name infant shoes, baby slippers or booties, and 20 involve girls’ styles, which carry most of the decorations. The largest children’s recall by units is Buster Brown & Co.'s Clog Children’s Shoes at about 1,400,000 pairs. 6 recalls were for lead or other chemicals, a separate set of federal limits explained in lead limits for children’s shoes.
