What went wrong

The notice saysThe fluorescent yellow materials of the boot shell and sole inserts can deteriorate and break, posing a risk of serious injury from a fall.

In ski and snowboard boots a fall hazard usually comes from hardware: a cuff pivot, buckle, power strap, walk-mode lever or the sole interface with the binding. When one of those lets go, the boot can release or lose support at speed. That is why these recalls tend to offer repairs or replacement parts through the shop that sold the boots, rather than a refund.
